Homebuyer confidentiality in the Oklahoma Broker Relationship Act

In this video, I talk about buyer confidentiality. I have an opinion about showing feedback that will fly in the face of conventional wisdom. Listing agents will try to bully you into providing this to help their client. Do you have a duty to help the seller when your client is the buyer? Is it possible the information you give the seller could harm the buyer’s position should they decide to make an offer on the property? Buyers’ agents need to talk this over with their buyer clients to make sure everyone has complete understanding. Then if you do give feedback, please have the buyer’s written authorization.

Next, we need to always assume we’re being watched and heard when viewing property. More and more people have video surveillance in and around their property. Wait to talk to your agent until you’re away from the house and back in the car or at the office. What you say could be used against you!
