Lawn care can mean selling a home faster and for more money
Taking care of a home’s landscape in the summer heat can be a daunting task for many homeowners. However, if you’re looking to sell your home in the summer months, maintaining or creating a beautiful lawn can mean selling a home faster and for more money.
The 2016 Remodeling Impact Report: Outdoor Features by the National Association of REALTORS® analyzes the reasons why homeowners complete outdoor remodeling projects and the value the finished projects bring to the homeowner.
Taking care of a home’s lawn will bring the most bang for the buck at resale. Seeding lawn produces the largest financial windfall, recovering 417% of the project cost at resale, followed by implementing a standard lawn care program (303% of cost recovered) and finally updating landscaping with sod lawn (143% recovered).
If your lawn is looking a little lackluster and you’re about to put your house on the market, making that first impression from the curb will be a smart investment!
