UPDATE: Shawnee Public Schools Fall Break Gets a Makeover
On June 30, 2025, the Shawnee Board of Education voted to approve a revised academic calendar for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year. And while most of the calendar remains the same, there’s one notable change parents will want to know about:
🍂 Fall Break has moved to a full five weekdays: October 13–17.
That’s a shift away from the previously planned Friday–Monday structure (which gave four days off sandwiched over a weekend).
So now? Families can truly plan for a full school-week break. Whether that means a vacation, a staycation, or just planning for extra childcare, it’s good to know now, before you’re knee-deep in fall routines.
