New Construction

14 New Shawnee Homes You’ll Want to Tour May 17-18

If you’ve ever walked into a brand-new home and started mentally arranging furniture before reaching the kitchen, this event is for you.

The 2025 Shawnee Showcase of Homes is happening May 17 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and May 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, and it’s your chance to explore what’s new and next in Shawnee home construction. This is the second annual Spring Home Showcase presented by the Shawnee Home Builders Association in partnership with Stride Mortgage and Shawnee Forward (our chamber of commerce, for those keeping track).

This year’s tour includes 14 homes from a variety of local builders, all spread across Shawnee’s newest neighborhoods. Whether you’re actively shopping, planning a future project, or just love great design, you’ll find plenty of inspiration. Expect fresh layouts, energy-efficient features, smart home upgrades, and ideas you’ll want to take home with you.

Highlights include:

  • Homes by builders like Arrington Homes, Lilley Signature Homes, Sebastian Homes, Sweet B Homes, and more
  • Giveaways, refreshments, and good conversations
  • A chance to see where Shawnee’s growth is happening and why so many are choosing to build here

Bonus Opportunity:

If you’re a Shawnee Forward member, there’s a special caravan tour and networking lunch on Friday, May 16 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It kicks off at Shawnee Forward (130 N Louisa) and includes a guided look at several homes, ending with lunch and a chance to connect with other professionals. To join the caravan, email Crystal at ceo@shawneeforward.com.

Quick heads-up if you’re touring:

If you fall in love with one of these homes (and let’s be honest, you might), don’t accidentally give up your right to exclusive representation by chatting too freely with the builders’ on-site reps, or worse, the builders themselves. Their job is to represent the builder, not you. You may hear offers to save money or sweeten the deal if you “skip the REALTOR®,” but that’s not always the win it sounds like. Just smile and say, “I’m already working with my agent, Steve Reese.” That one sentence keeps the playing field fair and ensures you’ve got someone looking out for your best interest from start to finish.

Any reputable builder who values integrity will welcome having your own representation and will have already accounted for it in their pricing.

In fact, most seasoned builders appreciate working with an agent who knows the process, speaks the language, and helps keep things moving forward without surprises. A good buyer’s agent doesn’t just protect your interests, we help make the entire transaction smoother for everyone involved.
